Independence Events Center

 

"Let us amaze you" is the unofficial motto of the Independence Department of Tourism and the goal of the Independence Events Center. This state-of-the-art, multi-purpose facility features an intimate arena with 5,800 fixed seats, 25 suites, 2,200 paved parking spaces on site, a first-class grill and community ice facility.


We are committed to providing our guests with the most dynamic and exciting entertainment experience possible. The Independence Events Center hosts more than 100 events each year and welcomes  more than 500,000 visitors annually. The events center is home to the Central Hockey League franchise the Missouri Mavericks and the Major Indoor Soccer League, the Missouri Comets. The events center also host concerts, trade shows, professional sporting events, festivals, and community ceremonies.

NAIA Division I Women's Basketball

The Independence Tourism Department and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) are excited to announce that the Division I Women’s Basketball National Championship is coming home to the Kansas City area. The City of Independence, Mo. will serve as the official host of the 2015 and 2016 national championships, with assistance from William Woods University (Mo.).

Comets Indoor Soccer Announce Home Opener for November 15

The Major Arena Soccer League today announced home openers for 21 of the league's 23 teams. The first match in MASL history will take place on Saturday October 25 with the Dallas Sidekicks hosting the MISL champion Missouri Comets at the Allen Event Center, kicking off the 2014-2015 season. It will be the first meeting between these two teams since the 2003-2004 Major Indoor Soccer League Season.
